I don’t mind the marketing email, but please check to make sure EVERY instance of your products name is spelled correctly. Nothing looks so unprofessional as reading about the “Powepack manual”. Otherwise keep up the good work!
Oh god ! Again old KDE and old kernel ! And if it has half of the 2011 bugs will be yet unstable.
Don’t know if i will even test this…
I will move to opensuse or fedora…
here here me also don’t like .
I’m again using old and stable and good and uptodate OPENSUSE 12.1 WITH GNOME 3.
Awesome work. Thanks for the very interesting and good release and for listening to your community and customers.
Staying with Mandriva

Hi, I don’t know the relationship between the 2011 Powerpack and 2011 LTS. Could you explain it? Will the 2011 LTS have a Powerpack? If I buy the 2011 Powerpack, will I get the 2011 LTS or update from 2011 Powerpack?
Thank you!
It’s to late now, mandriva doesn’t give information in sptember abaout powerpack, now i was passed to mageia.

DO NOT DO AUTOMATIC UPGRADE from 2010.1 to 2011 – my computer is now reporting “no filesystem could mount root, tried ext2 cramfs”
System is bricked.
KDE is unstable with bugs, GNOME 3 is horrible what next in store??
Want the old Mandriva back!!
I don’t want to move to another distribution
Does the 2011 powerpack has GNOME or just KDE??

I think we should try

yep , as good old french tradition you manage to screw rosa desktop also on pwp…..
You should search the community because we are tired to fix the pwp problems…. Witch, btw, isn’t usable ,
mister E-commerce manager at Mandriva SA – Paris, since 2004, sir .
PS:
if your kernel src.rpm is generating kernel-headers package what in the name of the lord , is the content of kernel-devel package? And why is in main-updates repository ?
Thx God for MIB && RosaLabs.
A piece of advice , for free, try to involve MIB for your kernels because this fbui gui ain’t no kernel hacker…..
powerpack is nice is there a way to make rosa not pop up on start up? dont mind rosa ive got used to it but i don’t want it to flood my screen on start-up…….also broadcom doesnt work i have no wire-less….bug reported but no fix yut …like i said i payed for powerpack with no wireless, but thats my only complain i like it so far thank you mandriva but please put a update out to fix dkms-broadcom-wl please
i jump the gun powerpack sucks… im going to kubuntu…pwp 2011 takes way too long to install and takes way to long for kde to boot up…and now it freezes on start up… along with wireless not working… pretty much i payed for something that sucks and works half ass …when for free i can download a linux distro that broadcom and mostly everything else works right out tha box… this isnt a user friendly distro anymore… its garbage.. they dont listen to community and they dont test there releases obviously!

Tested
Warning dont do anything updates yor system powerpack 2011!!! Because system bricked.
pwp is garbage, it’s even worse than the free edition.. what a joke…i payed 60 bucks, for rushed trash …wireless doesn’t work because of some broadcom bug they refuse to put a patch out for.. so people who payed are screwed…updates froze my kde screen, after i changed windows decorations… i left to mageia and everything worked right out the box, had great years with mandriva, but its moved in a differnt direction that i dont wanna be apart of..mageias my new home
I’ve found this version to be pretty much a disaster… the online in place upgrade blew up the system (unable to finish booting waiting for something). A fresh new install didn’t install properly… needed to restart the install process about 5 times to complete it and then can’t log in as anything else but the root or guest user as the one regular user account hangs at login. The KDE only interface is slow, can’t get konsole to even work. I’ve been using Mandrake/Mandriva for a very long time now but I think it’s time to look elsewhere if this is best they can do. I need a good Linux distribution for work that is easy to install, has lots of software choices and is stable and it appears this distribution no longer embraces those things.
Linux distro easy to install; just give Sabayon a try. It is a DVD iso with all codecs and pre-installed VLC player.
Mandriva you have done it, more it goes worse it get wireless doesn’t work my blue tooth doesn’t work. after many years of using this software i am switching to Ubuntu
awsome work…………………..
Mandriva is workong very well. My Asus X93S has no problem with new Mandriva. May be it is much more for new computers not for very old? Problems disapper probably on very new comps..
no all the devs left because of the mess my computers new and mandriva works half ass and i payed for powerpack i’ve let to mageia and i love it and its FREE
Mandriva 2010.2 is for me the best distro ever. Until what date will it be supported and after that date will the updates still be available on the server? Please Mandriva team stay with Mandriva 2010.2 and improve it. For me is Mandriva 2011 no option. I am waiting for Mageia 2, perhaps is this THE improvement.
It’s appropriate time to make a few plans for the longer term and it’s time to be happy. I’ve learn this submit and if I could I wish to counsel you some interesting things or advice. Maybe you could write next articles referring to this article. I want to read even more things about it!
i tried the 2011 free version on a ’586 first and it seemed reasonable so i loaded the ’64 version on a dell server. it also works fine so far as an http server.
however…having purchased a perpetual license to PWP i was waiting for that to arrive, downloaded the ’64 version and installed it on a server.
the installation went smoothly enough, but once complete and rebooted the X login wouldn’t show, just the X server screen background.
i logged in and looked around using a character console. for a bit.
i just don’t have time for unstable systems so i removed it from the server and went back to 2010.2, with updates and backports. works just fine for me and the companies i provide assistance to.
i wouldn’t go near trying to perform an update…even if my server were not remote…
incidentally, i also tried centos 6. another disaster.
