Hello Mandriva Staff, I have a great respect for the great work you have done over the years. having used mandrake 9.2 and a host of other versions. Here’s your main problem “Ubuntu”. Ubuntu gives a average user access to all the required codecs you expect Mandriva Users to pay for in the Powerpack Edition. I got hold of a copy of Mandriva 2010 Powerpack and still found it lagged behind Ubuntu 10.04 which has raised the Bar in what’s expected from a Linux Distro. Your problem is Powerpack = $69USD Ubuntu =$0.00 I’ve also read the rumors of financial problems with Mandriva. If your not already doing it, you need to pull apart Ubuntu, Suse, Mint etc to see what makes each version great to their Users and build on what you find. Sadly being asked $69USD for Powerpack is holding you back. I wish you good luck in the future and as Apple has done, create new markets for Mandriva that haven’t been thought of yet. Finally I develop my own version of Linux which is listed on Distrowatch which comes with all the codecs pre-installed and I know about the demands Users place on Developers. It’s done as a labor of love to help others, not make money.

Mandriva is my distro of choice since I first started with Linux 6 years ago. I’m worried about the future of the Free Edition and the company. Hope that both will be availabe for a long time. Mandriva is the BEST DISTRO in the market.

Great release! Installed it yesterday and it is working perfectly. Thanks to everyone. And special thanks to KDE team, I’ve never enjoyed using KDE so much.

Are there any problems with mirrors, according to http://api.mandriva.com/mirrors/list.php more than 3/4 mirrors did not picked up new version yet (e.g. there is one mirror in Germany v.s. 6 for 2010.0, there is no mirrors in US!, etc.).
Also mdkonline on running 2010.0 versions do not show notification about new distro version.

What about existing 2010 installations – how to upgrade online? Didn’t find any info on Mandriva’s site…

  7. Wow! Wow! Wow! You guys have done such an AMAZING job with the new version of Mandriva! I love 2010 but 2010 Spring takes everything to a whole new level!

I love Mandriva since day one. I change to linux because of it and the freedom it provides. I hope Mandriva continues to provide the free edition and everything else. I tried other versions of Linux but in my opinion this is the best Linux distribution for home users. I have had installed on many many computers. For now just keep us inform as to what is really happening! WE LOVE MANDRIVA

Hi all! Yes It’s a great release… but try to set up a new printer from Canon… Supposed to think that it would be unsuccessfully… :( usblp is out of kernel function but these printers need this module for proper work…

Excellent job, please continue developing quality software.
It has been my favorite operating system since Mandrake 6.2 (a few years ago).
