<description>Being new to Linux, here is some problems I would be glad to see addressed in future versions of Linux in general and Mandriva in particular:
1. My laptop Intel Proset 4965AGN driver works a treat in WindowsXP. In Mandriva 2008, I am lucky if I manage to download a full page. Persistence in Mandriva is not as good as WinXP.
2. Without a decent internet connection, I could not be expected to use apt-get or urpmi which seems to be the preferred way of installing extra software. Why could I not download these packages on a connected computer and take them to an unconnected computer for installation?
3. There should be an easier way for people to know what software is installed, how to run it, and how to uninstall it.
